Michael J. Saltzman, MD
Biography:Dr. Michael J. Saltzman received his undergraduate education at the College of William and Mary in Virginia, and went on to receive his medical degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School. He completed his general surgery internship at New York University School of Medicine and remained at NYU to complete his residency in Urology. Afterwards, he served as a urologic consultant at Auckland Hospital in New Zealand, prior to embarking on private practice.
Dr. Saltzman is highly trained in all facets of urologic procedures with the exception of robotic surgery. His specialties include prostate cancer management and kidney stones. Dr. Saltzman is also an expert in managing overactive bladders, interstitial cystitis and minimally invasive surgeries for female urinary incontinence.
Originally from New Jersey, Dr. Saltzman has previously practiced in Montana and Oregon before finding his "dream job" right here in Southeast Alaska. He loves Juneau for the frontier spirit, pristine environment, friendly community and absence of bureaucracy from managed care. In his free time, he enjoys keeping in touch with close friends from overseas, visiting the tropics for a much-needed dose of sunshine, and exploring the wilds of southeast Alaska.
